Great weather for ducks, never mind racing

Rotherham – 6/7/08

While sitting on the gate, normally the old Guinness advert runs through my head "tick followed tock followed tick followed tock followed tick..." But in my final all I could think of was getting my snap right without getting a splash in the face from the puddle that had formed under the gate.

Apart from the rain everyone seemed to have a good race:

- Carl Dixon finally seems to be getting over his fear of the track – 5th in final
- Adam Carr won all of his motos but got some stiff competition in the final – 3rd in final
- I had good event with 3rd 2nd 2nd and 3rd in the final
- Jordan Latta is getting a lot better at racing and moving through the pack really well – 4th overall
- Jordan Smith although suffering a bad back says he should of done better – 6th overall
- Returning racer Grant raced novice and killed it taking 1st place overall

Bring on sheffield

"Go big or go home"

Some great summer type shots here of a recent bowl session. Same as usual. Adam doing what he does best. These shots really sum up the scene best at Doncaster I think. Adam flying high out of the hips, and everyone else with there jaw's on the floor not daring to drop in incase of an embarrassment in front of the "master".

What I think people forget is that for every extra drop in to the bowl, every extra jump, its another little bit more practice and another little bit better. There is only one way to end up like this on a bike and that is through lots and lots of practice. Something that I know certain other riders have realised and have embraced. I can only be jealous that I don't have the time to do the same.

The Doncaster track may not be a Chesterfield, Mansfield or Harworth. And the Bowls might not be Devonshire Green or Sprotborough, but it is a decent place to ride for a giggle. I remember back in the day saying..."wouldn't it be mint if they built a bmx track nearby like the one in Harworth" and the reply would be "Yeah, never happen though". How wrong we were.

Does anyone else fancy writing something, I ain't got a clue what i'm talking about.

Back in my day....

There comes a time when you have to look back at the past to see where you've got to in life and today is that time. I was speaking to Chris the other day and we were talking about old times and thought we should have an old skool album in the gallery. So click the above image (or HERE) to see the gallery which goes all the way back to 2001. The days when messing on the Alverly steps was all it took to put a smile on your face, until the landlord decided to give chase! I've picked my favorites from the ol' days, ones that I think sum up the era. Enjoy!
